DAY 5 in Seoul(Part 1) - Visiting Namsangol Hanok Village

Day 5 in Seoul, as with every morning at Seoul Somerset Palace, we had a good breakfast.

After breakfast, we set off from Anguk Station to Chungmuro Station on subway line no 3 to reach Namsangol Hanok Village(above), a traditional Korean Village that is a popular tourist cultural spot.

(Above) Various attractions within the village

It is situated between modern tall buildings in the city(above). There are five traditional Korean houses, a pavilion, a pond and a time capsule which comprise the whole village.

As we were there during a weekday and in the morning, it was relatively quiet with locals, mainly the elderly taking morning stroll or brisk walking. Here you can visit house exhibits that reflect the different classes that stayed in them during the Joseon Dynasty from peasant to king. Weekends are more popular with visitors here since one can watch the proceedings of a traditional marriage ceremony at around 12pm or 1pm at Bak Yeong Hyo's Residence. It is frequently held during the Spring and Autumn seasons. Taking pictures with the wedding couple is a must for visitors.
